My happiness list!

Ah, with the craziness of moving into the house in full swing, I figured now was the perfect time to take a break and compile my "Happiness List," which is the July project (yes, yes, I know it's now August, but this was the best I could do!) for the fabulous blog, Pink of Perfection. With all the ups and downs of the past month, it couldn't be a better time to think about those things that make me happy....

  • Fluffy towels
  • Colorful markers and highlighters
  • Rainy summer nights
  • Grilled corn on the cob
  • Super-soft organic cotton sheets
  • Long bubble baths with a good book
  • The stack of glossy magazines next to my couch, waiting to be read
  • My dogs: everything about them, their wagging tails, their constant stream of snuggles and kisses, their wet noses, the way they run in their sleep, this could be a whole separate list of happiness
  • Chocolate chip cookies
  • Old family photos
  • Hubby kissing my forehead
  • Writing the first line in a brand new notebook
  • A steaming cup of coffee first thing in the morning... and another with a slice of pie at night
  • Reading the Sunday paper in bed
  • Chocolate milk at lunch
  • A Saturday matinee
  • The little goldfinches in the tree off our front porch
This list could go on and on! I think this was a great exercise, especially since I've been enmeshed in the minutiae of moving for the past four or five weeks. It's a good way to look at the daily grind with new-found admiration for all the wonderful things in our lives.

What would be on your happiness list?

How wonderful to come up with this list on a Monday morning (not that I know what day of the week it is anymore)! Makes you be thankful for so many things even if Monday mornings generally suck!!

Hi, I found you on the P.O.P. page, just checking out other people's lists! It's funny how many things overlap. Grilled corn on the cob...yes...that is a happy thing!

Grilled corn on the cob is the best! I remember reading a recipe about Yuccatecan street corn in Heidi Swanson's supernatural cooking that was to die for!
